Access Statement

Introduction
This access statement describes our current facilities and services available to our guests. This will enable potential guests to make an informed decision with regard to Spingle Barn and its facilities. It also helps them consider with regard to their particular needs the suitability of the accommodation.
It falls within the requirement of the Disability Discrimination Act (1995 rev 2005)(DDA). This access statement is not only a mandatory part of the quality assessment process for Visit Britain (star rating), but also it helps with specific access issues, and legal obligations within the  DDA (see above).
This access statement is placed on our website and is available within the information folder in Spingle Barn and is available on request from ourselves. It may also be emailed or posted to you.
Spingle Barn self-catering accommodation comprises one single holiday unit situated on the Peak District hill farm of Rowson House Farm, Monyash.

The farm buildings date back to the 1700's, they are of limestone construction with Staffordshire Blue tile roofs.
Spingle Barn is on two levels with no steps to the entrance but a minimal threshold does exist at all doorways.

Booking Information
Our booking process can e via email or telephone. Arrival is usually by car , however, there is a limited bus service through the village on most days. The bus stop is approximately 500m from Spingle Barn on the village green. Local railway stations are Matlock 12 miles, Buxton 8 miles and chesterfield 15 miles.
Spingle barn has its own private parking area for up to 12 cars.

We are happy to receive genuine enquires for Spingle Barn during reasonable hours, seven days of the week.


Public Areas
Spingle barn has a courtyard garden immediately outside of the property  which can be closed off for the safety and convenience of young children and pets. it also has a lawned area with additional seating for guests off of which leads the driveway connecting to Church Street.


Entertainment Facilities
There are large led and plasma tvs in spingle Barn, and free wi-fi. A Smart TV internet point is also available in the lounge. A selection of games and, puzzles are provided. The garden has a barbecue, fire pit, and seating area.


Additional Information
Spingle Barn is a no smoking property. Guests are welcome to smoke in the garden we would ask that they dispose of their cigarette ends considerately.


Access for the Less Mobile
Spingle Barn is situated over two floors with a gravel drive approach, the courtyard garden  can be accessed by vehicles adjacent to a gritstone path with level access to the property. The front door width is 1000mm and has a small threshold. On the ground floor the property has very slightly uneven stone flagged floors throughout with occasional rugs for decoration. The open plan lounge/dining area has a door,820mm wide, leading off to the spacious breakfast kitchen. Off of the lounge is a full guest bathroom, also an inner hallway with utility cupboard, coat hooks and games cupboard. A further  doorway, 880mm wide, leads to two ground floor en-suite bedrooms. Each bed has ensuite shower room facilities one of which has a wheelchair accessible wetroom.  This bedroom and wetroom have 890mm doorways and also has an external doorway (870mm wide) with direct access to the courtyard garden and vehicle parking area. The second downstairs bedroom has a door width of 820mm and a bathroom door width of 810mm.
